About the Role
You will lead the design, architecture, and operation of laboratory informatics systems. You will manage Benchling, build data models and integrations, configure inventory and barcode workflows, maintain dashboards, prioritize the roadmap, support users, manage vendors, and improve data integrity and lab-platform usability.
Requirements
- 3+ years implementing or owning LIMS and ELN systems in a biological or laboratory context
- Hands-on Benchling configuration and administration experience
- Experience translating scientific and operational workflows into data models
- Project management, product management, stakeholder management, communication, and listening skills
- Working proficiency with REST APIs and integration patterns
- Python proficiency for scripting and scientific-workflow automation
Responsibilities
- Manage and harmonize laboratory data across sample processing, molecular, and NGS workflows
- Own the Benchling platform
- Design laboratory data models and schemas
- Configure inventory, storage, and barcode-labeling systems
- Build and maintain integrations across the platform, laboratory instruments, and AWS
- Improve the end-user experience for laboratory scientists and technicians
- Provide reporting and dashboards for sample status, turnaround time, and pipeline efficiency
- Manage requirements and roadmap priorities
- Manage LIMS contractors, consultants, and software vendors
- Support users and enforce data-entry, naming, and permission conventions
- Incorporate AI tools into configuration, integration, data modeling, documentation, and support work
