About the Role

You will own and improve the Lightning Network and Bitcoin payment infrastructure, handling daily upgrades, fixes, and larger stack improvements. You will work hands-on with Lightning implementations such as LND, CLN, Eclair, or LDK, manage payment channels and liquidity, and analyze how payments flow. You will build monitoring and policies, conduct forensic work after incidents, and strengthen the security of crypto systems including key management and HSMs. You will help get crypto transaction accounting right, evaluate and integrate new Bitcoin and Lightning technology, and get new payment protocols like payjoin and nostr-based flows into production. You will also build the Lightning side of agentic commerce and contribute to internal libraries and open-source tooling.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional software development experience with a track record of shipping real products
  • Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar
  • Deep understanding of the Lightning Network protocol and Bitcoin fundamentals
  • Hands-on experience with at least one Lightning implementation (LND, CLN, Eclair, or LDK)
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript, and comfort working in Python
  • Crypto-native knowledge and usage of Bitcoin and the broader crypto ecosystem
  • Self-driven attitude with the ability to spot opportunities and push them forward independently

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve the Lightning Network and Bitcoin payment infrastructure
  • Work hands-on with Lightning implementations, payment channels, and liquidity management
  • Analyze Lightning payment flows, conduct forensic work after incidents, and build monitoring and policies
  • Strengthen the security of crypto systems, including key management and HSMs
