About the Role

You own the systems, tools, and processes supporting Legal and Compliance. You improve workflows, manage AI technology and vendors, oversee budgets and legal spend, maintain reporting and knowledge systems, manage outside counsel operations, and drive team efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of legal operations experience at a high-growth technology company
  • Expertise in legal tooling selection, implementation, and operation
  • Experience with CLM, e-billing, matter management, and procurement systems
  • Experience implementing AI and technology within legal operations
  • Experience with AI-assisted legal tools and automated legal workflows
  • Experience managing outside counsel, legal spend, budgeting, and program management
  • Ability to build metrics and reporting frameworks
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder influence skills
  • Experience building and improving processes

Responsibilities

  • Drive the Legal and Compliance operational strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and workflows
  • Maintain and optimize an AI-driven technology stack
  • Identify technologies and negotiate with vendors
  • Drive technology implementation
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, accruals, and spend tracking
  • Own planning cycles, OKRs, data reporting, and metrics
  • Manage outside counsel relationships
  • Manage billing guidelines, invoicing, and e-billing
  • Build and maintain knowledge management platforms
  • Run day-to-day Legal and Compliance operations
  • Manage vendors, memberships, guidelines, expenses, and team meetings
  • Represent Gusto in the Legal Operations community
