About the Role
You will advise the Financing Solutions business on securities lending, prime services, and secured financing. You will draft and negotiate contracts, support product development and client onboarding, conduct legal reviews, advise on laws and regulations, manage external counsel, and maintain legal templates and policies.
Requirements
- Solicitor or barrister qualified to practise English law
- Right to work in the UK
- Extensive experience in a major law firm or in-house in relevant EMEA product areas
- In-depth knowledge of securities lending and repurchase master agreements
- Experience with MiFID, CASS, and SFTR
- Awareness of relevant regulatory requirements
- Understanding of licensing laws for cross-border EMEA activity
- Experience drafting and negotiating market-standard and bespoke documentation
- Project management and execution skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Time management and organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Draft and negotiate legal contracts and documentation
- Work with stakeholders on new products and existing offerings
- Provide clear technical legal analysis
- Collaborate with global legal colleagues to onboard clients
- Conduct and lead netting, enforceability, and jurisdictional reviews
- Train others on legal reviews
- Advise on applicable laws and regulations
- Assist with regulatory inquiries
- Prepare legal analysis for internal new product approval committees
- Instruct and manage external legal counsel
- Maintain legal templates, policies, and guidelines
