About the Role

You'll join the team supporting our European payments infrastructure and money transfer projects. This is a hands-on legal role covering two core directions: our payment infrastructure line and our money transfer/remittance line. You'll work closely with business and compliance stakeholders, drafting contracts from scratch and helping translate business ideas into workable legal structures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in payment institutions.
  • Strong grounding in European payment law — a must.
  • Cross-jurisdictional experience: incorporating payment companies and setting up payment products (Canada, Europe, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of EMI / Payment Institution regulation in Europe, ideally covering both money transfer regulation and broader financial infrastructure regulation.
  • Hands-on experience drafting contracts from scratch.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Practical experience applying AI tools in daily workflows (beyond basic ChatGPT usage).

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate contracts from scratch, working across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Support incorporation and setup of payment entities (EMI / Payment Institution licensing) across jurisdictions including Canada and Europe.
  • Provide legal support for the configuration and launch of payment products.
  • Advise on money transfer / remittance regulation as well as broader payment infrastructure regulation.
  • Liaise with external legal consultants when needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, compliance, and business teams to shape legal setups around evolving business needs.
