About Fermah
Fermah operates Fermah Froben, a universal zero-knowledge proof marketplace, and Flashcast Social, an automatically resolved prediction-market product. Its infrastructure connects proof demand with GPU/CPU supply, orchestrates workflows, and publishes verifiable results on-chain.
Skills
About the Role
You will lead the architecture, design, and implementation of core protocol and VM infrastructure. You will build high-performance async VM and distributed-systems components in Rust, including sandboxed execution, deterministic workflow graphs, onchain attestation, networking, consensus, peer discovery, data propagation, and embedded storage. You will write, review, and maintain production-grade code; design concurrency solutions; optimize systems; mentor engineers; own releases and delivery; and align protocol design with product requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with C++, Rust, or Go, including 2+ years of production Rust experience.
- Verifiable contributions to Anza's Agave or Firedancer.
- Experience with eBPF, WebAssembly, or similar virtual-machine technology.
- Distributed systems and/or peer-to-peer networking experience.
- Knowledge of cooperative scheduling and actor models.
- Experience with embedded databases such as RocksDB or equivalent.
- Experience leading engineering teams and owning architecture and delivery.
- Deep interest in cryptography, blockchain, and protocol or infrastructure work.
- Self-starter with willingness to handle tasks of varying scope.
Responsibilities
- Own the architecture, design, and implementation of core protocol and VM infrastructure.
- Write, review, and maintain production-grade Rust code.
- Design asynchronous and concurrency solutions using actor models and cooperative scheduling.
- Build and optimize distributed systems, including networking, consensus, peer discovery, and data propagation.
- Implement embedded storage layers such as RocksDB.
- Lead and mentor engineers and drive code quality, testing, and performance best practices.
- Own deliverables end-to-end, including timelines, architecture decisions, and stable releases.
- Collaborate across engineering to align protocol design with product requirements.
Benefits
- Competitive salary and equity.
- Collaborative team that values excellence and delivery.
- Culture built on mutual respect, empathy, and impact.
