About the Role

You will own the strategy and end-to-end delivery of core banking payment products across India, the United Kingdom, and Europe. You will lead discovery, solution design, and agile delivery for payment rails, clearing, settlement, ledgers, safeguarding, reconciliation, APIs, and event-driven systems. You will work with senior stakeholders and specialists to ensure regulatory compliance, manage risks, optimize commercial performance, and use product metrics to improve payment experiences.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Product Management experience focused on core banking systems, payment rails, clearing and settlement infrastructure, or electronic money institutions.
  • Strong technical understanding of SEPA, Faster Payments, UPI, SWIFT, and Open Banking and PSD2 frameworks.
  • Understanding of API design, transaction logging, race conditions, and high-throughput core-system edge cases.
  • Understanding of funds flow, ledger management, double-entry bookkeeping, and automated safeguarding and reconciliation.
  • Knowledge of UK, EU, and global financial regulations, including FCA, PRA, EBA, AML, KYB, and transaction reporting requirements.
  • Understanding of small-business financial friction points, including cash-flow management, payment acceptance, foreign exchange, and account reconciliation.
  • Experience mentoring junior product managers, managing third-party banking providers and vendors, and aligning senior executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the product vision for banking payments, including local and international rails, multi-currency accounts, and local IBANs.
  • Lead cross-functional agile teams through the product development lifecycle.
  • Map transaction lifecycles, write technical specifications, and manage database isolation levels, event-driven architecture, and API design.
  • Lead discovery and solution design for money-movement controls, clearing, settlement, financial ledgers, safeguarding, and reconciliation.
  • Engage with banking and fintech ecosystem partners to identify payment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate fraud and transaction risks.
  • Optimize payment revenue drivers and collaborate with Finance on quarterly forecasting.
  • Define and track product KPIs and OKRs to drive continuous optimization.
