About the Role
You will lead electrical engineering for power generation plants, including distribution systems, switchgear, controls, UPS units, generators, transfer switches, monitoring, communications, grounding, and protection systems. You will support technicians and operators, perform electrical analyses, coordinate utility work, verify system interfaces, and ensure code compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or another engineering discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience with electrical projects, power distribution systems, switchgear, UPS systems, or generators
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical design and specifications for power generation plant systems
- Design power distribution, switchgear, motor control, controls, UPS, generators, transfer switches, monitoring, communications, grounding, fire alarm, and lightning protection systems
- Support technicians and operators in troubleshooting electrical equipment and controllers
- Perform load-flow analysis and electrical equipment evaluation
- Ensure electrical systems interface correctly with mechanical and electrical systems and power budgets
- Coordinate electrical installations and maintenance with local utilities
- Ensure designs and installations comply with applicable codes and regulations
- Perform code review and analysis using NFPA, NESC, IEEE, and IBC standards
