About the Role

You will get to know every active investor in Texas and help facilitate millions in venture capital funding by connecting portfolio founders to angels and venture investors. You will execute key Investor Relations programs, including Investor Office Hours, help startups understand fundraising options, onboard new investors into the community and assist with new IR initiatives. You will make curated introductions daily, act as the primary point of contact for investors, organize in-person and virtual office hours, attend events and take calls to understand each investor's thesis.

Requirements

  • Experience with the startup and technology markets
  • Basic understanding of startup funding terms, options and mechanisms
  • Ability to use data to understand problems and make connections
  • Organized and able to plan ahead while staying calm when things change at the last minute
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time with strict attention to detail
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work on time in a dynamic organization under time pressure
  • Able to work at least 45 hours per week
  • Plan to stay in Texas and commit to the position for 2+ years

Responsibilities

  • Make valuable introductions between founders and investors when there is mutual interest
  • Act as the primary point of contact for investors and build long-term relationships with them
  • Share relevant startups, events and opportunities with investors and track their engagement
  • Organize in-person and virtual office hours for investors to meet portfolio founders
  • Network with venture capitalists and angel investors to establish deal flow relationships
  • Attend events with investors and introduce new portfolio companies
  • Take calls and meetings with investors to understand their investment thesis
  • Make over a dozen curated introductions between investors and portfolio founders every day
  • Attend weekly Ventures Team Sync, Investor Relations Sync and other relevant meetings
  • Attend monthly First Look events
