About the Role
Join Samsung Next as an Investor in a three-to-four-year venture investing development program. Source and evaluate early-stage investments, focus on AI, robotics, and edge or on-device compute infrastructure, distill technical research, and communicate well-reasoned investment views. The role is hybrid in Mountain View, requiring office attendance 3-4 days per week, weekly evening or early morning meetings, and occasional travel.
Requirements
- Undergraduate or advanced degree in computer science or an engineering-related field.
- 3+ years of successful full-time technical experience in industry or startups, or equivalent experience gained alongside research for an advanced technical degree.
- Strong domain knowledge of AI, robotics, or edge/cloud infrastructure.
- Intellectual curiosity and passion for technology and startups.
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment and play many roles.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships in the startup ecosystem.
- High EQ and team-oriented contribution.
- Outstanding analytical and communication skills.
- Availability to travel regularly.
- Previous angel or personal investing background is a plus.
- Experience navigating a large corporate organization is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Source investment opportunities through relationships with founders and investors in AI, robotics, edge infrastructure, blockchain, healthtech, mediatech, and fintech.
- Evaluate early-stage investment opportunities through due diligence on technology, team, market, and product.
- Communicate investment cases from deal discussion through deal closure.
- Develop informed points of view through written investment memos and participation in deal discussions.
- Provide a supportive and responsive experience to founders and builders.
