Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.
About the Role
You will use numerical simulation to analyze rupture-sensitive reactor-vessel areas. You will create adapted meshes, run elastoplastic finite-element calculations with modeled defects, analyze results using historical and Beremin approaches, and compare the physical approaches.
Requirements
- Bac+5 engineering student or equivalent university student specializing in mechanics
- Knowledge of numerical simulation and finite-element methods
- Experience with a simulation tool such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, Aster, Cast3m, or equivalent
- Python proficiency
Responsibilities
- Learn the SYSTUS numerical-simulation software
- Perform an elastoplastic finite-element calculation and analyze it using the historical approach
- Create meshes for CT specimens and reactor-vessel components
- Calculate, analyze, and interpret results using the new approach
- Compare the historical approach with the Beremin approach
- Analyze the mechanical behavior of structures
