About the Role
Join Flow Traders' APAC team as an experienced Institutional Trader based in Hong Kong, responsible for expanding the Japan OTC trading business, managing the full OTC trading lifecycle, building institutional relationships, and supporting growth across ETFs and digital assets.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial markets, preferably in sales trading, middle office, or ETF-related roles
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese
- Solid understanding of ETFs, market structure, liquidity dynamics, and trading mechanisms
- Basic knowledge of digital assets and corresponding market structure preferred
- Experience operating within Japanese financial markets and understanding local market practices and client expectations
- Strong operational capabilities, attention to detail, and familiarity with Japanese business customs
- Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with institutional counterparties, ETF issuers, and exchanges
- Ability to facilitate onboarding of new counterparties in Japan and coordinate internal stakeholders
- Strong collaboration skills with trading, risk, and middle-office teams
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg Terminal
Responsibilities
- Drive and expand the Japan OTC trading business, including commercial development and external relationship management
- Coordinate between internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee counterparty onboarding, connectivity setup, and pre- and post-trade processes
- Manage OMS accounts and day-to-day sales trading execution, including trade booking
- Manage and structure commercial arrangements as a key liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders
- Manage relationships with institutional investors, ETF issuers, exchanges, trading venues, and digital assets counterparties in Japan
- Provide administrative and business support, including marketing initiatives, event management, and client meetings
- Prepare business documentation
- Identify and support business growth opportunities in Japan across the ETF and digital assets landscape
