About the Role
Own global indirect tax operations, manage compliance across multiple jurisdictions, handle filings, payments, reconciliations, journal entries, exemption certificates, and audits, and build scalable tax systems and processes while advising Finance, Legal, and Product.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in US sales and use tax
- Experience with multi-state compliance, nexus analysis, product taxability, exemption certificates, and audit defense
- Working knowledge of international VAT and GST compliance
- End-to-end ownership of multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance
- Experience with billing platforms or tax engines such as Stripe Tax, Avalara, or Vertex
- Strong systems and data skills
- Ability to operate autonomously as the sole indirect tax owner
Responsibilities
- Own global indirect tax operations
- Manage filings, payments, reconciliations, journal entries, exemption certificates, and audits
- Maintain tax codes and configuration in Stripe
- Prepare for e-invoicing mandates
- Establish compliance in new markets and jurisdictions
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Product on taxability, invoicing, and customer tax questions
