About the Role
You will lead the collections team across the UK, Bulgaria and India and own the collections strategy for Tide’s lending portfolios and negative balances. You will optimise recovery rates, manage collection agencies, improve tools and processes with product and data teams, strengthen reporting, and support recruitment, training and retention.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience as a collections leader
- Subject matter expertise in collections
- Experience with small business or consumer lending in the UK
- Experience with government-backed and unsecured loan portfolios
- Leadership and management experience
- Experience communicating strategic objectives and plans
- Experience with outsourced collections teams
- Experience working with product and data teams
- Knowledge of risk factors in collections and recovery processes
- Knowledge of risk mitigation
- Experience with OKRs

Responsibilities
- Lead the collections managers and specialists across the UK, Bulgaria and India
- Move between collections strategy and hands-on operational performance management
- Shape the strategic direction for Collections
- Liaise with Risk and Compliance, Tide Credit Services, Finance and Legal
- Optimise recovery rates through process optimisation and forbearance solutions
- Ensure fair treatment of Members and recognition of vulnerability
- Own relationships with debt collection agencies
- Oversee agency performance and review contracts and alternatives
- Improve collections tools and processes with product and data teams
- Automate unnecessary manual processes
- Improve management reporting with the data team
- Use robust data to provide insight and support decisions
- Work with Talent and People partners and trainers on recruitment, upskilling and retention
