About the Role

You will set the manufacturing automation roadmap and lead Manufacturing Engineering and Process Engineering. You will design flexible assembly lines, deploy automation and autonomous material movement, manage factory layout, establish DFM/DFA practices, oversee new product introductions, and hire and develop engineers.

Requirements

• 12+ years in manufacturing engineering for complex electromechanical hardware
• 5+ years leading engineers
• Experience launching a high-volume or high-mix assembly line end to end
• Experience building an automation program
• Hands-on DFM/DFA experience
• Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans, capability studies, standard work, takt, and OEE
• Experience growing an engineering team from a handful to dozens
• U.S. person status due to ITAR and export-control requirements

Responsibilities

• Own the multi-year manufacturing automation roadmap
• Design and launch flexible assembly lines for multiple customer products
• Partner with software and robotics teams to deploy foundation-model-driven automation
• Specify and deploy autonomous material movement
• Own the Emeryville factory layout
• Build the DFM/DFA practice
• Build the Process Engineering team and practices
• Own new product introduction from customer handoff to stable production
• Hire, develop, and lead manufacturing and process engineers
