About the Role

You will own the end-to-end payments and banking fraud prevention strategy. You will lead fraud analysts, investigators, and managers; design policies and controls; oversee fraud detection systems and escalations; manage risk assessments; monitor payment trends; and report fraud and payment performance to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in banking, payment processing, or fraud risk management
  • Experience building or leading a fraud team
  • Experience managing strategic fraud and payments programs and high-volume analyst operations
  • Experience with card, third-party, and peer-to-peer payment fraud
  • Knowledge of banking regulatory and compliance frameworks
  • Knowledge of UK and non-US fraud, payments, and banking regulatory regimes
  • Data analytics and reporting experience
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing career frameworks, coaching managers, and scaling operational teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the payments and banking fraud prevention strategy
  • Set the fraud vision, roadmap, and OKRs
  • Build, lead, and mentor fraud analysts, investigators, and managers
  • Monitor emerging fraud trends, techniques, and technologies
  • Monitor payment trends and regulatory shifts
  • Design and maintain fraud policies, rule frameworks, and controls
  • Maintain risk assessment, mitigation, governance, and audit controls
  • Lead risk assessments and implement preventive controls
  • Oversee fraud detection systems and escalation pathways
  • Maintain SLA and QA standards for alert queues
  • Coordinate fraud operations with customer support, compliance, legal, product, and security
  • Direct fraud and payment KPI analysis and reporting
  • Apply global coverage standards across markets
