About the Role

Lead the architectural direction and technical strategy for Tide's Commercial Services offerings, including scalable credit products, third-party integrations, engineering standards, and global expansion.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of backend engineering experience.
  • At least 3 years in senior engineering leadership roles.
  • Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
  • Ability to use AI tools and LLMs to improve engineering productivity, software quality, and delivery velocity.
  • Experience building scalable, resilient, fault-tolerant systems.
  • Technical depth in at least one technology stack.
  • Track record of delivering complex systems and third-party integrations.
  • Ability to translate business goals into a technical roadmap.
  • Mentoring skills and experience building high-performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the architectural direction for Commercial Services offerings.
  • Lead the design and development of high-quality credit products.
  • Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Business stakeholders.
  • Oversee integrations with third-party providers.
  • Provide hands-on guidance on architecture, design, and engineering decisions.
  • Champion system design, security, and software development standards.
  • Mentor engineers and Engineering Managers.
  • Influence the technical strategy for global Commercial Services.
