About the Role
You will lead and mentor a senior design team while remaining a hands-on designer. You will own product design surfaces, including the retail mobile experience, and set a high craft standard through discovery, specification, reviews, and delivery. You will own the design system and component library, including tokens, patterns, governance, contribution models, and adoption across product teams. You will partner early with product and engineering on discovery, roadmaps, architecture, technical trade-offs, and complex client workflows. You will establish effective design practices such as critique, documentation, design reviews, and engineering handoffs. You will represent design in strategic discussions and externally with clients, partners, and candidates.
Requirements
- Experience leading design in financial services
- Experience building and owning a design system at scale
- Hands-on Figma experience and current product design delivery
- Deep UX expertise, product thinking, logical reasoning, and data-informed decision-making
- Experience managing and developing designers
- Technical literacy with APIs, data models, and engineering trade-offs
- Direct communication skills
Responsibilities
- Own and ship hands-on product design work
- Manage, mentor, and develop designers
- Own the design system and component library end to end
- Represent design in strategy, roadmap, and architecture discussions
- Partner with product and engineering from discovery onward
- Design scalable systems across shared platform primitives
- Establish critique, documentation, design review, and engineering handoff processes
- Set and maintain the quality bar for design work, including AI-assisted work
- Evaluate technical constraints and trade-offs with engineering
- Represent design internally and externally with clients, partners, and candidates
