About the Role
You will own end-to-end product design for Ethena Pay, helping set a high craft standard across its iOS and Android experiences. You will assess the app and design system, prioritize improvements, and work with engineering to deliver reusable components, motion, interactions, layouts, typography, and states. You will design clear money-related experiences across all user states, define the app’s voice and error copy, and own brand guidelines, partner co-branding, card artwork, launch content, and store pages. You will also conduct lightweight research, provide critique and pairing, and help strengthen the design practice.
Requirements
- Demonstrated portfolio and track record of world-class native mobile app design.
- Several years designing shipped native apps whose design drives usage.
- Advanced motion and interaction design skills, including transitions, springs, gestures, haptics, and micro-interactions.
- Senior product design experience on a live neobank, payments, card, crypto money, or standout consumer mobile app.
- Portfolio demonstrating product states and what was shipped versus designed.
- Experience improving teammates’ craft through critique or engineering pairing.
- Hands-on brand and marketing design experience, such as identity work, card artwork, launch content, or social content.
- Experience using AI design tools such as Figma MCP or Claude Code, including awareness of their limitations.
Responsibilities
- Review the iOS and Android app and design system, and prioritize what to keep, fix, or rebuild.
- Set and ship a design standard with engineering, including a component library, motion and interaction language, and rules for layout, typography, and states.
- Design loading, pending, failed, limit-reached, offline, and uncertain states.
- Define clear display rules for balances, rounding, and pending versus settled amounts.
- Create app terminology and actionable error copy.
- Own brand guidelines, partner co-branding, card artwork, launch content, X content, and store pages.
- Align Android and iOS around shared components, tokens, motion, and states.
- Raise design craft through critique and pairing, conduct lightweight research, and help build the design practice.
