About the Role

You will lead compliance and risk activities in the DRC, maintain policies and controls, monitor regulatory requirements, and manage regulator relationships. You will oversee AML/CFT support, risk mapping, internal controls, remediation, compliance training, and local fraud escalation.

Requirements

  • Professional or native fluency in French and English
  • 7–10 years of compliance, risk management, or regulatory affairs experience
  • At least 3 years of senior leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, law, economics, risk, or a related field
  • Experience leading compliance for a regulated financial services company or fintech in the DRC
  • Experience engaging with the BCC
  • Knowledge of mobile money, e-money, and digital financial services regulation

Responsibilities

  • Define the DRC compliance program strategy
  • Advise leadership and the board on compliance matters
  • Maintain compliance policies, procedures, and risk controls
  • Monitor regulatory frameworks and ensure internal alignment
  • Support AML and CFT investigations and submit suspicious transaction reports
  • Monitor KYC and onboarding controls
  • Manage relationships with regulators, banking partners, and local bodies
  • Coordinate regulatory audits, inquiries, filings, and reporting
  • Develop responses to non-compliance incidents
  • Lead compliance training and education
  • Identify and evaluate operational risks
  • Maintain local risk mapping and mitigation strategies
  • Design and implement second-level internal controls
  • Track remediation actions from internal control reviews
  • Coordinate local fraud investigations and awareness efforts
  • Escalate fraud signals and trends
