About the Role

Lead company-wide accounting operations, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing and financial statement preparation. Support consolidated reporting, tax filings, cash-flow management, internal controls, audits, budget-versus-actual management, performance analysis, and the CFO. Manage and develop junior and outsourced accounting staff.

Requirements

  • Experience at accounting department manager or section manager level
  • At least 7 years of practical accounting experience
  • Experience preparing financial reports, business plans, public relations materials, or similar documents
  • Bookkeeping Level 2 certification or Certified Public Accountant or tax accountant qualification
  • Experience responding to or supporting audits
  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Ability to work from the Tokyo office as needed

Responsibilities

  • Oversee company-wide daily, monthly, and annual accounting and closing activities
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Support consolidated financial reporting
  • Coordinate tax filings and tax matters with external tax advisors
  • Manage cash flow and optimize funding plans
  • Build and operate internal controls and support audit responses
  • Manage and develop the accounting team
  • Manage budgets versus actuals and analyze performance
  • Support the CFO
