Transluce develops research, platforms, and open-source tools intended to help evaluators and other stakeholders understand, measure, and steer advanced AI behavior in the public interest. Its active product, Docent, analyzes AI-agent transcripts using traceable behavior rubrics, qualitative review, and quantitative analysis.

About the Role
You will define standards for independent AI oversight, expand evaluator networks, build interdisciplinary partnerships, and engage government and policy stakeholders. You will translate technical AI research into accessible materials for policymakers, journalists, and the public.
Requirements
- Technical fluency in AI evaluation issues
- Policy or legal experience related to AI
- Experience with academic research and writing
- Exceptional communication and relationship skills
Responsibilities
- Define standards and best practices for independent AI oversight
- Organize and expand AI Evaluator Forum membership
- Develop partnerships for interdisciplinary AI evaluations
- Engage government and policy stakeholders on AI oversight
- Support government contracts, grants, and relationships
- Translate technical research for policymakers, journalists, and the public
