About the Role
You will serve as the principal legal adviser across governance, corporate, commercial, strategic, and operational matters. You will advise directors and senior stakeholders, manage cross-border legal work and outside counsel, negotiate agreements, and build scalable legal processes and infrastructure.
Requirements
- J.D. and active bar membership in at least one United States jurisdiction
- Significant in-house and/or leading law-firm legal experience with exposure to high-growth organizations, complex transactions, or cross-border legal matters
- Ability to operate independently as a senior legal lead and manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously
- Ability to translate legal analysis into practical governance- and business-oriented recommendations
- Experience working across international jurisdictions and coordinating with external counsel
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working effectively with directors, founders, executives, and external advisers
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Foundation’s principal legal adviser across governance, corporate, commercial, strategic, and operational matters
- Partner with the Board of Directors and senior stakeholders to support decisions, assess legal risk, and develop practical paths forward
- Lead legal support for governance matters, including board processes, resolutions, approvals, delegated authorities, and documentation
- Advise on entity structuring, affiliated-entity relationships, organizational decision-making, and internal legal frameworks
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, strategic arrangements, and service-provider documentation
- Develop scalable legal processes, templates, and internal workflows
- Lead and coordinate legal work across the United States, Cayman Islands, Singapore, Korea, and the United Kingdom
- Manage outside counsel across specialist areas and jurisdictions
- Translate external legal advice into clear internal recommendations and actionable next steps
- Identify emerging legal risks and design workable internal processes
- Build and shape the legal function
