About the Role
Arcade is seeking a Staff+ Founding Platform Engineer to become the first and only engineer in this domain. The role involves turning an original product vision into a robust, high-scale system for mobile spot and perpetuals trading, along with a novel social product. The engineer will own the platform architecture, data layer, rewards, notifications, API surface, integrations, performance, and reliability.
Requirements
- Staff+ level engineering experience.
- Experience operating systems through a 50x traffic spike and making capacity-shedding decisions.
- Experience building retry-safe rewards and accounting systems with idempotency, replay safety, and lot tracking.
- Experience managing end-to-end latency budgets.
- Strong PostgreSQL performance-tuning experience.
- Strong TypeScript and Go skills.
- EVM experience at the read level.
- Ability to read Rust across boundaries in unfamiliar code.
- Ability to architect systems from zero to extremely high scale.
Responsibilities
- Own the platform, including the data layer, rewards, notifications, API surface, and reliability.
- Integrate perpetuals through Hyperliquid and spot trading through Jupiter and Relay.
- Unify data from Zerion, CoinGecko, Mobula, Alchemy, and Hyperliquid into a single source of truth.
- Build high-performance caching and fan-out systems for heavy data workloads.
- Make a unified USDC balance across chains invisible to users.
- Maintain system performance and reliability during peak load and critical production incidents.
