Orthogonal

Orthogonal is a company building infrastructure that lets AI agents discover, call, and pay for third-party APIs and data services. Through a single SDK, MCP server, or REST API integration, agents can access company data, web search, email verification, enrichment, and other tools from over 40 verified providers. It primarily serves developers and teams building AI agents, particularly for go-to-market, data enrichment, and automation use cases.

About Orthogonal

Orthogonal provides a unified integration layer that allows AI agents to reason and then act by discovering, calling, and paying for third-party tools and APIs. Rather than requiring developers to hardcode integrations with dozens of individual providers, Orthogonal's SDK, MCP server, REST API, and CLI let an agent describe what capability it needs (e.g., company lookup, email verification, web search) and Orthogonal routes the request to the right service from its catalog of 40+ verified providers such as Apollo, People Data Labs, Coresignal, Linkup, and Serper. It pools provider credentials, normalizes request/response formats, and meters usage per call, supporting payment via credits, x402 onchain micropayments, or MPP agent-native rails. The company serves developers, startups, and GTM/AI teams building agentic workflows who need reliable access to company data, people data, web search, scraping, and email services without managing many separate API contracts and dashboards. Orthogonal has raised $4.3M led by Pantera Capital and is backed by Y Combinator.

About the Role

You will design, build, and ship products across the full stack. You will develop backend services and APIs for high-throughput workloads, third-party integrations, reliability, and performance. You will also build the dashboard, provider catalog, and developer experience using Next.js and React. You will own features from database to user interface, review code, participate in architecture discussions, improve testing and observability, and work with the founders to turn user needs into robust features.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and systems fundamentals
  • Full-stack experience owning features from the database to the user interface
  • Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and database-driven applications
  • Experience with Next.js, React, and TypeScript
  • Experience with server-side languages and frameworks such as TypeScript and Node.js or Python
  • Experience with testing, debugging, monitoring, and performance optimization for distributed systems
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

  • Write production-quality code, review peers' work, design technical solutions, and participate in architectural discussions
  • Own features end-to-end across the frontend and backend
  • Build API integrations, developer tooling, and core platform features
  • Move between frontend polish and backend systems as needed
  • Collaborate with founders to translate user needs into robust features
  • Help shape architecture and engineering culture
