About the Role
You will develop BIST firmware and validation workloads for NPU products. You will control NPU, SoC firmware, and host drivers to reproduce demanding operating conditions, collect measurement data, debug hardware and firmware issues, and deliver reusable test tools and documentation.
Requirements
- 10 or more years of embedded firmware or Linux kernel development experience, or equivalent capability.
- Understanding of Trusted Firmware, U-Boot, Linux, bare-metal programming, and Arm-based SoC boot flows.
- Linux device-driver development experience and knowledge of PCIe, DMA, and interrupts.
- Ability to interpret chip specifications, register maps, board schematics, power rails, PMBus, I2C, and reset signals.
- Development ability in C and at least one of Rust or Python.
- Ability to design validation-system architecture and independently determine development direction.
- Ability to analyze firmware and hardware issues using reproducible conditions and measurement results.
Responsibilities
- Define validation targets, fault conditions, operating margins, and measurement data with quality, hardware, and firmware stakeholders.
- Develop BIST firmware and execution code for compute, memory, and data-transfer workloads.
- Modify and build SoC bootloaders, embedded Linux, and host Linux device drivers.
- Control voltage, clocks, sensors, resets, PCIe, DMA, and interrupts for validation.
- Use JTAG and UART to debug firmware and hardware boundary issues.
- Develop stress-validation capabilities for low-voltage, high-temperature, and power-transient conditions.
- Provide tools, interfaces, deployment documentation, and technical handoff for test and production environments.
