About the Role
You will prepare and submit German regulatory returns, monthly HGB financial statements, reconciliations, and accounting adjustments. You will maintain audit-ready documentation, operate internal controls, support customer-asset segregation, process accounts payable, and assist with statutory audits and regulatory information requests.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of financial accounting, financial control, or regulatory reporting experience in regulated financial services
- Knowledge of German GAAP (HGB), including accruals, valuation, reconciliation, and period-end close
- Ability to reconcile HGB to IFRS
- Working knowledge of German regulatory reporting or ability to acquire it rapidly
- Fluent German at C1+ level and professional working English
- Understanding of internal control principles and documented control frameworks
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit German regulatory returns, including Bundesbank AWV, MiCA prudential, and PSD2 returns
- Prepare monthly HGB financial statements and process HGB-layer adjustments
- Reconcile HGB results to IFRS for group reporting
- Perform accrual, balance-sheet, and bank reconciliations with auditable documentation
- Draft and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and the accounting manual
- Operate day-to-day internal controls and sample-testing protocols
- Support daily reconciliation of customer and corporate assets under BaFin segregation requirements
- Support statutory audits, regulatory information requests, and local accounts payable
- Assist financial control activities across entities during audits, peak periods, or absences
