About the Role
You will lead finance for the Malta regulated entity and wider European business. You will own statutory and prudential reporting, engage supervisory authorities, manage capital and liquidity obligations, lead financial control and planning, support licence applications, and build and lead the finance function.
Requirements
- 15+ years of finance experience in European financial services, including senior finance leadership
- Direct accountability for finance at a regulated European entity
- Experience with European regulators across authorisation, reporting, examination, or remediation
- Regulatory experience in at least two of MiCA and crypto-asset services, payment and electronic money institutions, MiFID investment services, and banking
- Knowledge of PSD2, PSD3, PSR, safeguarding, own funds, liquidity, and prudential reporting
- Experience operating across multiple European jurisdictions
- Expertise in IFRS, statutory reporting, consolidation, external audit, and month-end close
- Commercial finance experience in planning, forecasting, unit economics, pricing, investment appraisal, and scenario analysis
- Experience building and leading finance teams
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification
Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function for the Malta regulated entity and wider European business
- Own statutory and regulatory reporting, including prudential submissions
- Engage European regulators on supervision, information requests, examinations, and remediation
- Manage regulatory finance requirements across MiCA, payment, electronic money, MiFID, and banking regimes
- Manage own funds, capital adequacy, liquidity, and safeguarding obligations
- Lead finance workstreams for licence applications and European expansion
- Deliver IFRS and statutory reporting, month-end close, external audit, and treasury
- Lead planning, forecasting, budgeting, unit economics, and financial analysis
- Support pricing, investment, and market-entry decisions
- Build, lead, and develop the finance team
- Represent finance to the board, auditors, and regulators
