Required and preferred rules are kept separate and reflect the wording in the original posting.

About the Role

You will assess data centers for AI and GPU infrastructure deployments through remote reviews and on-site inspections. You will validate power, cooling, rack capacity, networking, operational readiness, and commissioning evidence; identify risks and remediation needs; prepare go or no-go assessments; and coordinate technical resolutions with operators, vendors, utilities, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in data center engineering, critical facilities, infrastructure solutions engineering, commissioning, or field applications engineering.
  • Hands-on experience assessing or delivering data centers and resolving deployment blockers.
  • Knowledge of electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including power distribution, backup systems, cooling, facility capacity, and usable IT load.
  • Ability to read electrical single-line diagrams, mechanical schematics, equipment data sheets, rack layouts, and commissioning reports.
  • Understanding of AI or HPC infrastructure, high-density GPU systems, liquid cooling, and high-speed networking.
  • Ability to write site assessment reports, compare options, estimate remediation scope, and communicate technical risks and tradeoffs.
  • Professional English communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel for site assessments and deployment support.

Responsibilities

  • Lead remote reviews and on-site inspections of data centers for GPU cluster deployments.
  • Validate operator claims using drawings, specifications, operating records, utility documentation, and commissioning evidence.
  • Assess usable IT capacity, rack density, expansion constraints, power distribution, UPS systems, backup generation, and redundancy.
  • Evaluate air cooling and direct-to-chip liquid cooling systems.
  • Review rack space, floor loading, access, cabling, carrier diversity, fiber routes, bandwidth, and latency.
  • Assess monitoring, maintenance, incident response, remote hands, physical security, and acceptance records.
  • Classify sites by deployment readiness and required upgrades.
  • Produce site assessments covering capacity, rack count, dependencies, costs, schedule risks, and go or no-go recommendations.
  • Resolve technical questions with operators, landlords, utilities, vendors, and contractors.
  • Define remediation and acceptance criteria and verify closure of critical issues.
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders to establish an assessment process and prioritize qualified sites.
