About the Role
You will support data-center fiber installation projects, inspect and troubleshoot fiber systems, replace cables, perform fiber splicing, organize maintenance routines, monitor signal strength, and maintain system records and designs.
Requirements
- 1+ years of direct data center experience installing and routing optical fiber in large-scale Tier 3 or 4 facilities as a commercial fiber-optic technician
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Availability to work evenings and weekends
Responsibilities
- Manage data-center installation projects under supervisor guidance
- Ensure a safe and productive work environment
- Develop sensor indicators and conduct inspections
- Troubleshoot, repair, and install fiber-optic systems
- Replace faulty or old fiber-optic cables
- Organize scheduled maintenance routines
- Perform fiber splicing and resolve fiber-optic issues
- Monitor signal strength across devices
- Maintain system records and system designs
