About the Role
You will build and manage laboratory safety architecture, permitting, chemical compliance, life-safety systems, and process-risk programs. You will lead the site EHS function, support autonomous laboratory operations, and integrate safety data, inspections, training, and audits into operational systems.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in EHS, process safety, or chemical operations
- Knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and best practices
- Experience conducting HAZOPs or FMEAs
- Experience designing or reviewing functional-safety systems
- Ability to work on-site in a high-complexity laboratory environment
Responsibilities
- Manage permitting with local, state, and federal agencies
- Maintain chemical inventory systems, SDS libraries, and hazard labeling
- Lead Hazard Communication and SDS training
- Coordinate EHS inspections, documentation, and postings
- Design and review life-safety, gas-detection, interlock, and abatement systems
- Conduct HAZOPs, PHA, FMEA, and risk assessments
- Establish operational-readiness and laboratory-reliability systems
- Implement machine safeguarding, fail-safes, robotics safety controls, and functional-safety validation
- Collaborate on AI risk-assessment and safety-constraint capabilities
- Lead the site EHS team and digital EHS infrastructure
