About the Role

You will lead a hands-on engineering function while continuing to write and ship production code. You will own system architecture, hire and develop engineers, establish delivery and testing standards, operate reliable money systems, manage incident response, and review backend platform and mobile work.

Requirements

  • Lead engineering for a consumer money product with genuine financial stakes
  • Lead a small team while shipping production code
  • Own production operations including on-call incidents observability and key hygiene
  • Integrate regulated financial rails across payments identity banking and custody
  • Run a disciplined high-velocity agile delivery process
  • Use test-driven and behaviour-driven development
  • Use agentic development safely and verify output
  • Demonstrate backend and distributed systems expertise
  • Understand TypeScript or Node event-driven services and Postgres
  • Understand APIs authentication Kubernetes infrastructure as code observability and native mobile

Responsibilities

  • Write and ship critical production code
