About the Role
You will lead a technically deep platform engineering group responsible for search infrastructure, indexing systems, retrieval, and context and memory primitives. You will set the roadmap, balance foundational investments with rapid iteration, operate reliable systems, partner with product and AI stakeholders, and develop engineers through hiring, coaching, and feedback.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams
- Technical management experience with architecture and trade-off discussions
- Depth in search, retrieval, or large-scale data and indexing systems
- Experience product managing a platform or infrastructure scope
- Systems judgment in scalability, performance, security, build-versus-buy decisions, and enterprise readiness
- Experience working with product and AI teams as platform customers
Responsibilities
- Lead the platform team responsible for search infrastructure, indexing, retrieval, and context and memory primitives
- Set a roadmap balancing latency, cost, reliability, scalability, security, and new capabilities
- Operate the platform through SLOs, observability, on-call health, and incident prevention practices
- Partner with Search and Context, AI, and other platform consumers on interfaces and commitments
- Anticipate customer-team needs and invest in capacity and platform capabilities
- Hire, coach, and develop engineers
- Contribute to engineering practices for platform design, reliability, on-call, and AI infrastructure
