About the Role
You will lead the team building the SDN control plane for VPC networking. You will define the VPC control plane roadmap, guide network virtualization and distributed control-plane architecture, support reliability and incident response, benchmark performance, mentor distributed systems engineers, and collaborate with data-plane and cloud product teams.
Requirements
- 6–8+ years in distributed systems or cloud networking engineering
- 2–4+ years managing engineering talent
- Knowledge of SDN and network virtualization
- Knowledge of VXLAN and Geneve
- Knowledge of VPC constructs
- Knowledge of BGP and EVPN
- Knowledge of OVN and OVS or equivalent control-plane architectures
- Experience building large-scale control planes
- Experience with state reconciliation, consistency tradeoffs, API design, and configuration propagation
- Experience with Go or Kubernetes-style controllers
- Understanding of SLOs, convergence-time benchmarking, graceful degradation, and blast-radius containment
- Experience with DPU or SmartNIC data planes
- Experience with cloud load balancing or NAT at scale
- Experience with network security policy engines
