About the Role
You will hire, coach, and develop a high-performing Growth engineering team. You will partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver experiments and product improvements that help users discover, activate, and expand value in GitLab. You will guide technical design, architecture, delivery planning, prioritization, and implementation; evaluate experiment results; and scale successful changes. You will also foster asynchronous collaboration, resolve complex technical and product issues, and drive AI-native experimentation workflows.
Requirements
- Experience managing product, growth, or development teams.
- Strong technical background in guiding fullstack engineering work, architecture discussions, and product delivery.
- Experience collaborating with Product, Design, and Data to deliver measurable outcomes through experimentation and iteration.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills across product areas and stakeholder groups.
- Experience prioritizing opportunities and evaluating experiment results in a data-informed environment.
- Ability to translate complex technical and product issues for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience managing remote, globally distributed teams in an asynchronous environment.
- Experience with developer tools and product-led growth.
- Ability to use AI-driven tools to solve complex product challenges.
Responsibilities
- Hire, guide, and enable a high-performing Growth engineering team.
- Partner with Product, Design, Data, and Engineering stakeholders to deliver improvements that increase user discovery, activation, and expansion.
- Own team delivery, including planning, prioritization, and execution of experiments and product improvements.
- Guide experiment ideation, ICE-based prioritization, hypothesis development, and results reviews.
- Guide the technical design and implementation of experiments and growth-oriented product changes.
- Coordinate work across Growth and other stage groups while maintaining clear ownership boundaries.
- Participate in technical discussions and reviews to unblock complex issues.
- Foster asynchronous communication and cross-functional operating rhythms.
- Drive adoption of AI-native experimentation and workflows.
