About the Role

You will lead and grow engineers building production finance platforms. You will own finance-event contracts, ledger and accounting-engine delivery, reliability and correctness standards, data contracts, APIs, controls, and cross-functional technical alignment.

Requirements

• Experience leading teams that build and operate high-volume backend systems where correctness matters
• Experience with event-driven systems, idempotent processing, replay, and backfill
• Knowledge of platform boundaries, data contracts, and API design
• Experience hiring and growing engineers and setting platform engineering standards
• Ability to work across engineering, finance, and audit functions
• Preferred: 3+ years of engineering management experience and 8+ years of industry experience
• Preferred: Go and streaming systems such as Pub/Sub or Kafka
• Preferred: LLMs, agents, and MCP
• Preferred: ledger or sub-ledger systems and double-entry accounting
• Preferred: SOX controls, ERP, Workday Financials, or Oracle Financials

Responsibilities

• Lead, hire, coach, and grow a team of engineers
• Own finance-event contracts, the accounting ledger, and accounting engine
• Ensure finance events are posted exactly once and traced to their sources
• Operate real-time production services for billing workflows
• Provide SDKs, frameworks, scoped access, SOX guardrails, and observability
• Define service reliability and correctness standards
• Align technical designs, data contracts, and APIs with Billing, Compute, and Infra
• Reduce the time required to support new products, programs, and compute buildouts
