About the Role

You'll lead the engineering team behind the Affinidi Elements product, working primarily with TypeScript, Node.js, and React to build secure, well-tested, and performant features. You'll analyze complex problems and break them into actionable tasks, collaborating closely with Product Management, UX, and other stakeholders to keep quality high in a fast-paced, iterative environment. You'll help shape the product and technology roadmap alongside peers, product managers, and designers, while advocating for improvements in quality, security, and performance. You'll guide the team through technically complex problems, uphold coding and architectural standards, and own delivery of significant features, collaborating with cross-functional teams on larger initiatives. You'll coach and mentor engineers to help them grow in their careers, and foster a diverse, collaborative, and transparent team culture where every voice is valued.

Requirements

• Proven track record of leading engineering teams delivering production-quality products in fast-paced, global environments
• Strong leadership skills in setting vision, fostering autonomy, mentoring, and driving collaboration across global environments
• Strong experience leading teams to deliver production-quality products with excellent technical writing skills
• Hands-on technical leadership with strong coding skills and ability to balance direct contribution with delegation
• Deep experience diagnosing and preventing performance and optimization issues
• Champion clean architecture, CI/CD, testing best practices, and coding standards
• Solid background in cloud-native environments (AWS serverless preferred), microservices, and event-driven architectures
• Proficient in design patterns and architectural documentation (C4 Model, ADRs)
• Experience building developer tools such as CLIs, SDKs, and developer portals
• Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, and React; familiarity with Rust, Dart, or Go is a plus
• Hands-on with REST APIs and Test-Driven Development

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team to develop features and improvements to the Affinidi Elements product using TypeScript, Node.js, and React
• Analyze and interpret highly complex problems and convert them into actionable tasks for the team
• Collaborate with Product Management and other stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality
• Collaborate in building the product and technology roadmap with peers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders
• Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance
• Guide the team in solving technical problems with large scope and complexity
• Guide the team in crafting code that meets internal standards for style, maintainability, and best practices
• Own delivery of significantly complex features and improvements
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and peers on larger projects
• Coach and mentor engineers in achieving the next level of career and professional growth
• Lead and create a diverse, dynamic, collaborative, transparent culture
