About the Role
You will originate power agreements and supply contracts, develop investment-case analyses, and execute hedging strategies. You will model demand-charge exposure and energy costs, negotiate with utilities and suppliers, structure energy-risk instruments, and monitor market, tariff, and regulatory developments supporting data-center growth.
Requirements
- Experience in energy origination, commodity or power trading, or utility-scale power markets
- Experience negotiating contracts and executing deals
- Ability to build and pressure-test LCOE, NPV, and IRR models
- Hands-on experience evaluating or executing power and gas hedges
- Ability to negotiate with utilities and counterparties
- Ability to communicate risk and financial analysis to senior leadership
Responsibilities
- Originate PPAs, utility interconnection agreements, and energy supply contracts
- Develop LCOE and NPV/IRR analyses for power strategies
- Evaluate and execute power and fuel price hedges
- Structure fixed-price contracts, options, swaps, and gas instruments
- Model peak-demand exposure and identify cost-reduction strategies
- Produce site-level energy-cost forecasts
- Negotiate commercial and technical terms with utilities and suppliers
- Track RTO/ISO processes, tariffs, regulatory risk, and energy markets
