About the Role
You will own plant electrical systems for gas-turbine generation and medium-voltage collection and export infrastructure. You will develop protection designs, perform power studies, direct switching activities, coordinate utility work, support commissioning, and improve system reliability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or electrical engineering technology
- Ability to perform hands-on work in varied weather, tight quarters, or at heights
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed
- Ability to work safely in hazardous environments while wearing PPE
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to travel up to 50%
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Own plant electrical systems for gas-turbine generation, including generators, excitation, synchronization, auxiliaries, and balance-of-plant electrical systems
- Design 34.5 kV collection and export systems, protection and control systems, e-houses, blackstart capability, and medium-voltage infrastructure
- Serve as switching authority for plant electrical systems
- Develop single-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, relay settings, and interconnection designs
- Perform detailed power-system studies using ETAP, PSS/E, or equivalent tools
- Integrate generation with plant systems, collection and export systems, and data center loads
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and support permitting and utility coordination
- Support equipment specification, vendor selection, factory testing, commissioning, and energization
- Conduct FMEA, root-cause investigations, and reliability modeling
- Support facility builds, capacity expansions, and power-standard improvements
