About the Role
You will own earned media and the corporate narrative, advising the CEO and executive leadership on messaging and interviews. You will craft and adapt stories for financial, fintech, and crypto outlets, build and maintain reporter relationships, proactively pitch major announcements, and oversee internal communications alignment as needed.
Requirements
- 10-12+ years experience in financial services, fintech, payments, or crypto communications
- Established relationships across major business and financial media
- Direct experience advising CEOs and senior executives
- Ability to distill complex technical and regulatory topics into accessible narratives
- Data fluency and comfort anchoring stories in metrics and research
- Ability to tailor messaging across institutional, technical, and industry audiences
- Executive presence and professionalism
- Capacity to set strategy and execute independently
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute earned media strategy across financial, business, fintech, crypto, and technology publications
- Serve as strategic communications advisor to the CEO and executive leadership
- Adapt messaging and storytelling based on audience, outlet, and market context
- Develop and maintain relationships with reporters, editors, and producers
- Drive proactive pitching tied to product launches, partnerships, data reports, and major market moments
- Secure executive interviews, thought leadership placements, speaking opportunities, and awards
- Shape and refine the corporate narrative across announcements and partner communications
- Partner with Product, Relationship Management, and CMO on joint announcements and positioning
- Leverage proprietary data and market insights to create differentiated story angles
- Oversee internal communications alignment as needed
