About the Role

You will lead immunology strategy from target validation through IND-enabling studies. You will oversee in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo, and translational studies; manage scientists and external partners; and guide cross-functional decisions using biological, pharmacological, and biomarker evidence.

Requirements

• PhD in immunology or a related field
• 15+ years of relevant experience, including significant small-molecule discovery industry experience
• Expertise in innate and/or adaptive immunology
• Experience with primary-cell and ex vivo studies and multiparameter flow cytometry
• Experience designing and interpreting in vivo efficacy, pharmacodynamic, and mechanistic studies
• Experience transferring assay cascades to CROs or automation or HTS platforms
• People leadership, mentoring, performance management, and executive communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead immunology strategy from target validation through IND-enabling studies
• Oversee in vitro and ex vivo studies using primary human immune cells, whole blood, PBMCs, and tissues
• Define and oversee in vivo efficacy, mechanistic, and PK/PD studies
• Manage and develop scientists and associates
• Oversee CROs and external partners, including goals, timelines, budgets, deliverables, and data quality
• Drive cross-functional decision-making with Chemistry, DMPK, Safety, Translational, and Computational functions
• Partner with AI/ML scientists on computational approaches for hypothesis generation and data interpretation
