About FDD Center on Cyber and Technology Innovation
CCTI is an internal center of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies. About the Role
You will lead editorial operations and ensure the quality of short- and long-form publications. You will manage editorial workflows, develop research analysts, support the use of AI tools in original research, coordinate research promotion, and conduct and publish research in your area of expertise.
Requirements
- Ph.D. preferred, or comparable research training and experience
- 8–15 years of professional experience in research, government, or policy-related roles
- Broad expertise in foreign affairs and national security
- Advanced professional editing and writing skills
- Ability to manage high-volume editorial workflows
- Understanding of AI strengths and limitations for original research
- Public speaking and broadcast-media communication ability
- Residence in or ability to relocate to the Washington, DC metropolitan area

- Lead the editorial team and ensure publication quality

- Supervise and develop research analysts
- Facilitate the use of AI tools for original research while maintaining analytical rigor
- Coordinate with communications staff to publicize research
