About the Role
You will own end-to-end US payroll operations and oversee Canadian payroll processing. You will manage payroll staff, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, improve Workday configuration and processes, support audits and controls, and apply AI tools to reconciliation, anomaly detection, and reporting.
Requirements
- 8+ years of payroll experience
- 3+ years owning US multi-state payroll
- CPP certification
- Direct people management experience
- Workday experience
- Equity compensation processing
- Federal and state payroll tax knowledge

Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle US payroll processing
- Process equity compensation and associated tax withholding
- Manage bonuses, commissions, severance, and equity-event payments
- Oversee quarter-end, W-2 preparation, reconciliations, and tax notices
- Improve Workday payroll configuration and automation
- Oversee Canadian payroll operations and develop payroll procedures
- Manage and develop direct reports
- Partner on payroll accounting, compliance, audit readiness, and controls
- Identify and implement AI-enabled payroll improvements
- Document processes and maintain payroll SOPs
