About the Role
Lead and implement government affairs and public policy strategy across the US and Canada. Cultivate relationships with federal and state officials, trade associations, and industry partners; coordinate advocacy with legal and communications; manage external consultants and government-facing engagements; and keep senior leaders informed about the political and regulatory landscape.
Requirements
- Proven track record in US public affairs and public policy development
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in policy settings
- Experience identifying and engaging stakeholders at federal and state levels
- Strong commercial awareness and diplomatic judgment
- Demonstrated relationship building with senior leaders
- Ability to translate complex digital concepts into policy recommendations
- Pragmatic decision making under ambiguity and urgency
- Experience managing multiple policy initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Stellar judgment
- Deep understanding of digital identity, data privacy, and associated policies
- Track record of driving compliant projects in complex regulatory environments
- Established relationships with government officials and digital policy stakeholders
- Knowledge of public affairs, media landscapes, and digital/social media strategies across various geographies
Responsibilities
- Report to the Chief Policy Officer
- Ensure legal and regulatory compliance in policy activities
- Develop and implement government affairs and public policy strategy
- Cultivate relationships with federal and state government officials
- Oversee government and consultancy relationships
- Engage with digital trade associations and industry partners
- Lead outreach to federal and state digital governance organizations
- Coordinate advocacy priorities with Legal and Communications
- Develop policy positions, stakeholder maps, and advocacy action plans
- Support country-level advocacy strategies and related initiatives
- Inform senior executives about political and policy developments
