About the Role
You will set engineering strategy and delivery direction across market data, trading, clearing, and brokerage infrastructure. You will lead engineering managers and senior engineers, prioritize platform investments, maintain operational reliability, manage incidents, and drive modernization, scaling, and technical-debt reduction.
Requirements
- 15+ years of software engineering experience
- 6+ years of engineering leadership experience
- Experience as a Director or Senior Director leading large multi-team engineering organizations
- Platform engineering and backend platform strategy experience
- Experience leading major incidents in always-on environments
- Distributed systems expertise
- Backend services at scale
- Go or Python
- Cloud infrastructure
- AWS preferred
- Financial services, trading, brokerage, or crypto experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Own engineering strategy and delivery across Market Data, Trading Platform, Clearing, and Brokerage Infrastructure
- Lead and develop a distributed organization of engineers and engineering managers
- Drive modernization, reliability, and scalability investments to measurable outcomes
- Partner with a TPM to prioritize requests from product teams and protect engineering capacity
- Own the reliability and operational health of market-critical systems
- Represent platform roadmaps, dependencies, and capabilities to cross-functional stakeholders
- Champion technical debt reduction, stack rewrites, sharding, multi-region scaling, and infrastructure abstractions
