About the Role
Own the delivery, performance, and growth of Ripple Treasury's Hedge Accounting managed services practice. Lead Derivative Accountants and Managers, oversee operations and capacity planning, resolve complex hedge accounting and audit issues, maintain technical standards, build client relationships, and partner cross-functionally to support product and service growth.
Requirements
- CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- 8–10 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9.
- Experience spanning FX and interest rate risk management.
- 5+ years managing and developing accounting or finance teams, including managers.
- Experience running service-practice operations, including staffing, capacity planning, KPI tracking, workflow design, and delivery quality.
- Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9.
- Strong understanding of FX forwards, options, cross-currency swaps, interest rate swaps, caps, floors, and collars.
- Track record of designing and implementing process improvements.
- Experience with hedge accounting platforms or comparable treasury management systems preferred.
- Strong communication skills with auditors, clients, and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage the operating model for FX and interest rate hedge accounting service delivery.
- Lead Hedge Accounting Managers and Derivative Accountants.
- Forecast capacity, plan staffing, and manage organizational design.
- Set and track delivery KPIs and improve service workflows.
- Own hiring, workforce planning, and team development.
- Define hedge accounting strategy, methodology, standards, and technical positions.
- Resolve novel, contested, and high-risk hedge accounting questions.
- Represent the practice in audit conversations and stay current on FASB and IASB developments.
- Build relationships with client treasury, accounting, and finance leadership.
- Partner with Product, Implementation, Customer Success, Sales, and Renewal teams.
