About the Role
You will lead technical accounting for complex infrastructure and energy arrangements. You will analyze leases, VIE structures, and derivatives; prepare auditor-ready memos; advise partners during negotiations; coordinate with external auditors; mentor accounting professionals; and improve accounting processes through automation.
Requirements
- 12+ years of progressive accounting experience including technical accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA
- Technical knowledge of ASC 842, ASC 810, and ASC 815
- Experience authoring and defending technical accounting memos
- Analytical ability with complex contracts and datasets
- Experience improving scalable technical accounting processes
- Ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders
- Cross-functional communication and influence skills
- Experience partnering with engineering, infrastructure, or operations teams
Responsibilities
- Lead technical accounting judgments for complex infrastructure arrangements
- Apply ASC 842 to lease identification, modifications, reassessments, and embedded leases
- Apply ASC 810 to counterparty and joint-venture structures and VIE analysis
- Apply ASC 815 to energy and infrastructure arrangements
- Prepare technical accounting analyses and auditor-ready memos
- Advise Real Estate, Legal, and Finance teams during contract negotiation and execution
- Explain financial statement impacts to non-finance stakeholders
- Serve as a contact for external auditors
- Mentor Infrastructure Accounting professionals
- Drive process improvements and automation using AI tooling
