About the Role
You will lead the accounting organization and set its strategy, structure, and priorities as the business scales. You will own financial reporting, the close process, technical accounting, compliance, controls, audits, accounting systems, tax, equity accounting, and strategic transaction support. You will present key financial matters to executive leadership, the board, and investors while building and developing the accounting team.
Requirements
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years leading accounting teams.
- CPA license.
- Experience building and scaling an accounting function at a high-growth technology, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, or similar company.
- Deep expertise in US GAAP, technical accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience designing and owning internal controls, including SOX or SOX-readiness work.
- Experience leading external audits as the primary auditor-relationship owner.
- Experience presenting to executives, boards, and investors.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Responsibilities
- Lead the accounting organization and set its strategy, structure, and priorities.
- Build, hire, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and deliver accurate US GAAP financial statements.
- Set and maintain accounting policies, including revenue recognition and technical accounting.
- Lead the external audit relationship.
- Design and own the internal control environment and SOX-readiness path.
- Present financial results and accounting matters to leadership, the board, and investors.
- Partner on contracts, deal structures, equity, and decisions with accounting impact.
- Set the accounting systems roadmap and drive automation and AI in accounting workflows.
- Oversee tax, compliance, equity accounting, and external advisors.
- Lead accounting work for financings and strategic transactions.
