About the Role
You will lead performance and capacity analysis for Db2 on z/OS environments. You will forecast capacity needs, tune database workloads, investigate incidents, assess resiliency, and translate technical findings into recommendations. You will partner across engineering and operations functions and mentor engineers on cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Db2 for z/OS performance engineering, capacity planning, database infrastructure, systems programming, or production support experience
- Expertise in Db2 for z/OS architecture, DDF, SQL performance analysis, access path optimization, package management, thread processing, and subsystem tuning
- Knowledge of IBM z/OS, Parallel Sysplex, workload management, processor utilization, memory management, and system performance
- Experience with IntelliMagic, SYSVIEW, OMEGAMON, SAS/MXG, Grafana, Power BI, Python, or SQL
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or equivalent experience

- Lead Db2 performance and capacity analysis

- Lead production incident investigations and root-cause analysis
- Conduct change assessments and resiliency reviews
- Translate technical findings into recommendations and risk assessments
- Partner with application, infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams
- Mentor engineers and guide cross-functional initiatives
