About the Role
You will tackle platform and deployment challenges through pragmatic engineering and automation. You will build and operate scalable, self-service infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and blockchain platforms, including node provisioning, network deployment, and lifecycle management. You will optimise build and release pipelines, improve system resilience, and ensure traditional and blockchain infrastructure can scale with the needs of the business. You will collaborate closely with engineering and SRE teams, focusing on infrastructure as code, developer experience, and operational scalability, with ownership of the reliability and performance of blockchain nodes and supporting systems. You will also take part in on-call support to ensure 24/7 availability of all systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer operating production-grade infrastructure
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation) and automated environment provisioning
- Strong experience with containerisation and Kubernetes, including production operations and cluster management; EKS preferred
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and deployment tools such as ArgoCD
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS, firewalls)
- Experience implementing and operating secure systems (IAM, secrets management, network security controls, vulnerability management)
- Proficiency with at least one development language (e.g., bash, Python, Go)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Desirable: hands-on experience running and maintaining blockchain infrastructure
- Desirable: experience working within a crypto organisation
- Desirable: experience in Financial Services
Responsibilities
- Build a fault-tolerant, geographically distributed infrastructure supporting multiple data centres with replication, sharding, auto balancing and failover
- Deploy services with strict availability requirements in a large-scale environment
- Develop and maintain code for automated infrastructure management using Ansible and Terraform
- Collaborate with the Backend Engineering team to increase resilience through systems and application metrics
- Improve the CI/CD pipeline to provide new integration vectors
- Build and maintain infrastructure for a fleet of blockchain nodes across more than 25 layer 1 protocols
- Provide on-call support to ensure 24/7 availability of all systems
